There aren't many elevated vantage points east of to capture the skyline from (like the West End Overlook or Mt. Washington), unless you're in a helicopter. Here, the sun begins to illuminates the tops of the buildings downtown and the Cathedral of Learning at dawn.

Regarding the travel food question... for the win at the original location in Pittsburgh's Strip District. Can’t go wrong. My wife said this is possibly the best travel food since eating at the in Charleston, South Carolina over 4 years ago.
