I am so, so lucky to have such a savvy and fun mentor who truly *gets* my weird genre-bending novel, and makes even talking on the phone (shock, horror) fun and inspiring!! ❤😭

Just described the process to my BFF as “Take my book. Take out the bones. Strip it. Rebuild it. Shock it back to life,” and I think I maybe believe this book is the literary equivalent of the Wolverine? 🤷🏼‍♀️

This is a fantastic blog post about getting an agent by my mentor who is a great writer, brilliant editor, and all around awesome person! Check it out and follow him if you haven’t- he frequently does giveaways and is a great source of info!

Working through my incredibly thoughtful edit letter from and feeling excited about where we’re going to take my story (and also like I’m going to need a lot of caffeine over the next three months. But mostly excited).🌪

Just received a reminder and I‘ve already completed the task (for once 👀), is hard at work on her 1st round of edits. Her Wintersong/Greek mythology inspired fantasy has a romance that will gut you & then stitch you back together again. You’re welcome

Finished my second readthrough (now with inline comments!) and compared my draft edit letter with the reverse outline my mentee kicked ass on. Nothing like seeing how closely our visions line up. This book, y'all. All the feels.

One thing (among many) that the experience has given me is my confidence in writing back. I (E) have diagnosed anxiety and depression that have impacted me my entire life. I went on medication for it several years ago and it really, truly saved me. (1/)

Once we're done with these sorts of walks will be research for our next project, or at least setting inspiration. For now they're just pretty.

So far today I've researched diving in the South Pacific, what animals would be on/around the reefs there, & the structure of hard corals. This resulted in (so far) 1,7211 NEW words in my MS. Also, just for , I researched and added sharks. 😁
