Illegal saiko fishing by industrial trawlers in Ghana - the majority linked to foreign beneficial owners- targets fish reserved for local fishers. EJF’s analyses found sardinella and other small landed at Elmina through the saiko trade.

1. When travelling, I like visiting markets to check out what fish is caught, how big they are, and to ask how much they cost and where they come from. In Coron, Palawan, there are still more & caught within the Calamianes. Prices are still cheaper too.
