Some journals have the most ridiculous requirements for formatting before submission. Literally spent nearly 3 hours trying to hit all the requirements on a recent submission. Ill be starting to rule out journals based on this nonsense anymore. Waste of time.

Finding the right incentives for grant - this survey suggests that financial incentives wouldn’t necessarily sway reviewers into accepting more reviews. Reviewers appear to prefer recognition from funders and feedback on the quality of their evaluation.

I give undergraduates a hard time for not spellchecking their essays before submission; I am not sure why experienced, professional academics think they can dispense with it in their grant applications.
