Today we took that up a notch. In NU3883 with students we discussed the Power Threat Meaning Framework as an alternative to psychiatric diagnosis. Not what's wrong, what happened. Not disorders people have, things that people do.

The feels extreme. Surely it needs to be to represent the 'paradigm shift' you speak of? Extreme isn't necessarily bad ie Newtonian to quantum physics. But the burden of proof remains with the 'paradigm shifter'. In the case of PTMF the evidence just isn't there.

at Rcpsych conference today. Hope there will be some open minded psychiatrists attend and learn. I'm skeptical, I think they will boycott it! There'll be some docs actively discouraging colleagues going 🙄 and good luck!!
