Incredible! This orchid (Laelia superbiens) is called “La Vara de San José” in Guatemala, where it grows in deciduous forests, often on oaks. This magnificent specimen lives in Casa Popenoe, a colonial museum in Antigua.

In Bloom: Phalaenopsis Travato. Now that I’ve learned a trick in reblooming these phal hybrids to their full potential, I will probably add more to my collection.

I moved some stuff around inside the terrarium and added things. I’m not sure everything will fit with time- but I’d rather wing it and see how it goes than plan everything with meticulous detail.😅 My fern canopy has filled in nicely.

Vanda Memoria Thanchai x Rhynchostylis gigantea I wish you all could smell this. I walked into the greenhouse and began looking for the grape kool-aid scent. It is amazing.
