The biggest winner of is voter apathy. Truly. Its ironic that the poor and marginalized who will be most hurt by the Ford PC government so willingly gave Ford the stick to beat them with.

The Ontario election result demonstrates why Proportional Representation is needed in BC. Less than 50% of the votes equals 100% of the power.

1 Wynne's attacks on workers/NDP legitimized Ford. Her legacy will be one of allegiances with the right when it counted. 2 NDP+Greens need to work together for electoral reform 3 Ford in no way has a Harris-style mandate for right-wing policy

Doug Ford kicks things off by talking overtop of our outgoing female Premier Kathleen Wynne, a break with the tradition of letting the defeated Premier speak first on election night. Sign of things to come. Buckle up, Ontario.

The worst part about this Ontario election was not that Doug Ford won. It was the the lack of any party being able to claim themselves as a viable and healthy option for Ontario in the first place. There was no party that was above legitimate and harsh scrutiny
