After decreasing 77% from last year, count of rigs drilling horizontal wells for oil in the U.S. is leveling off near 150 rigs. Permian lost the most rigs (289) but has the smallest % change at 71%. Out of 12 Basins that had rigs last year, only 6 still have rigs this year.
