Today we’re holding a stand in reception at LGH from 10- 2pm to showcase OT practice in acute setting. Come join us! There’s even cakes which our service leaders very kindly helped decorate in our cookery school yesterday πŸ’š

Happy Occupational Therapy week from China! Today was spent researching interventions for rumination (considering sensory & learning needs alongside history of trauma & neglect)& working with a visiting OT on some practical sensory approaches for caregivers to follow

Planned and presented the personal pulmonary rehabilitation project. Excited to carry this out for the next 5 weeks and possibly create a scope for respiratory specialist in acute hospital setting ✌🏼

One of the best things about is reminding myself who we are at the core. I absolutely adore what occupational therapy is and sometimes I forget and get caught up in the challenges of work but honestly, I LOVE being an OT πŸ’šπŸ’š

Provided harness for boy with difficulty sitting upright due to fatigue. Able to buckle & unbuckle it = independence in toilet/bed transfers. Today the extra strength & better position allowed him to push faster & further on a trip outdoors

A lovely afternoon promoting Occupational Therapy in my local library & spending some time in the Day Opportunities centre with some incredible people enjoying some of their meaningful occupations - I particularly loved a bit of a rock sing-a-long!! πŸŽ€πŸ€£πŸ’š

The wonderful promoting the importance of parity of esteem. To me it means equality for physical and mental health - as a community OT working in older adult mental health I focus on mental health & physical health due to frailty πŸ’šβœ¨
