. I was declared surplus from my board today, along with 193 secondary teachers in Peel. Every single person that lost their job today will have NO job in September. Am I mistaken or did you and say no job losses??

I'm not sure what's more outrageous and laughable - the fact that claims that he has actually spoken to "hundreds and hundreds" of teachers, or that education workers are "so happy to hear our budget".

This week will be difficult for many teachers as we all learn who has been excessed to board. Please , . We've worked years as OTs/LTOs & finally as contract teachers, only to lose it. If you're as livid as I am, share with

I can assure you that this is not "routine" for this school board, or most others. Your plan assures four years of fewer teachers, fewer support staff, and fewer programs for students. How does that help students to succeed?

To my sisters, brothers, and others: I am absolutely heartbroken to read the daily tallies of Ontario educators who have received lay-off notices. I read every tally because I have lived your experience. I know how easily one feels abandoned.

Not apologizing for the salary I make. During hard times, I’d be willing to negotiate a pay increase of inflation but this isn’t 2008. Stock market is at a record high. Do you think ppl in the private sector are frozen? We earn our salary every day.

Student 1: I have to do at least one mandatory online course this year to graduate, but I don’t have high speed internet. Teacher: We wish we could help. Student 2: You can use the computers at the public library? : Nope. Cut that too.

I'm 1 of the 193 that received a letter. Such a heart breaking day to be told we would no longer have jobs in Sept. It's scary times for teachers and students who are looking at what is to come in education. & I hope you're listening.

Over the last 2 weeks well over 1000 teachers have been told they no longer have a permanent teaching job. Here is a collection of some of their social media reactions to being surplussed.

Can we (teachers) please have a few days reprieve from the seemingly constant barrage of defamation and belittlement from the Ontario PC party? I can’t think of a day since March break where I haven’t felt criticized for doing a job I love.

Are you serious? I have just watched as my colleagues were handed pink slips. Some have worked in occasional positions for over a decade and finally had some stability. You have pulled the rug out from under them and their Ontario families. And still...license plates?
