As of today I’ve stepped down as a member of the I am honoured to have been a part of such a trailblazing project! It has provided me with more confidence in my voice as a nurse, realising I am definitely not alone in my enthusiasm!

My response to a concern that nursing 'must return to Nightingale'. is not what it was. Nor should it be. As a profession we respond to population health needs & the contemporary care context, Those needs change..so we change. Nursing is, and must remain, dynamic.

Writing my research paper on inadequate nurse staffing ratios effects on patient quality of care, adverse events, and nurse burnout. Oh how I relate to this so well.

For shame. at denigrating because we demand they go to medical school if they want to practice medicine. Meanwhile a shortage is not being addressed. Stop the fake stats. Physicians practice in rural areas. Demand a medical doctor.

As a stn nurse I often find people in healthcare can be awkward or reluctant to discuss sexuality with patients, especially across cultural differences. We are all humans and we all have sexuality, and this should never be forgotten.

“Could you do my hair?”, a client asked at the Supervised Consumption Site. “Of course”, I responded, attempting to tie a half decent ponytail. “Thank you”, the client said, “it feels good to be cared for”.

After two rounds of back and forth with reviewer #2 I had given up hope and then... manuscript accepted. Time to party! Oh wait, no, I mean time to get the baby, toddler, and prepare to pick up the kindergartener...

The profession has so many opportunities, a lot of them I was unaware of when I started my journey 3 years ago. has made me more aware of them. I’d advice all to follow them, get involved and ‘use’ their combined expertise

Other than the Francis Report itself and the Code does anyone know of any good journals or sources discussing how legislation has changed post-Mid Staffordshire Inquiry?

It's an odd thing, when a patient dies. Their family, friends show up and cry. And you just working your day, as a nurse, your heart sinks, you well up, and there's this uncontrolled rush of emotion on behalf of people you don't even know. And you cry, too.
