Energy demand is growing faster than renewables carn keep up. And unless you want the whole of Australia covered in unsightly bird killing wind farms and toxic solar panels then is the only solution

The UK has 8 nuclear power plants. If we went from 8 to 24 we'd not be burning any fossil fuel for electricity

Your 15 seconds about on were disgracefully unbalanced, consigning the cleanest most energy-dense fuel to "used to be, ten, twenty years ago". Set against sprawling wind & solar farms consuming vast tracts of land with only a 30% load factor.

It's time to look at rationally in a dispassionate, objective manner. It is the cleanest source of energy. Burning pollutes the air causing millions of human deaths every year. Renewables create toxic solid waste & destroy large swaths of natural habitat.

Well first of all is the cleanest form of energy per megawatt. It's not toxic at all. Solar panels are exceptionally toxic and when past their used by date are shipped to third world countries or dumped in land fill

Interesting piece Ben. If is "proactively seeking new solutions" as your article says could look at which is $2,800/kW not the $16,000/kW that is often quoted. India, Saudi Arabia, China & South Korea are leading the way. A piece by you on China is needed!
