The trees in the amazon rain forest produces 20% of the oxygen we breathe, is home to over millions of plants and animals. Some found nowhere else in the world. How could you compare an old building to that?

Apparently until there's a figure of Christ attached to the wood, burning trees is not worthy of mediatic attention or salvation. Reprioritize what is sacred.

vs The world media covered Notre Dame burning, billionaires rushed with money to restore it. Our ecosystem would collapse without it. Also this is thread 1. Making another second thread with more sources

Maybe if they stop tweeting about their exes, stop tweeting about dumb TV shows and see if there is somewhere they can donate money to stop this...The same way people donated millions to restore an old building when the happened. Why don't we see the same concern?

Both are obviously awful, but I think losing ~1000 acres a day of 55 million year old rainforest (full of biological wonders and undiscovored medicines) is a way bigger catastrophe than a 150 year old church

Remember when got tons of coverage, and donations?! Where are the millions of dollars in donations now? Was this historical landmark more valuable than a crucial ecosystem our plant has relied on for thousands of years?
