Mike Ashley will leave one day. Newcastle United fans will have their cans festival. In the meantime, they deserve an apology and an explanation from the Premier League.

Many fans have contacted me frustrated by the failed takeover after 17 weeks of suspense. I've written to the for answers on the takeover process. The govt must act on their promise of a ‘fan-led’ review into the structure of our national game!

I've been looking into the details of the O&D test in the Premier League handbook. This is the de facto contract between the member clubs and the league, and so I hoped it'd give me a clue what the hold up might be. 1/n

Connect the dots! Qatar... Barclays... Premier League all lead to one person... Gary Hoffman! Consortium given assurances they wouldn't fail back in April. Hoffman, former Barclays, starts role of Chair of PL in June around the time takeover should have been approved.

Here’s my two penneth. The consortium are all incredibly shrewd business people and they wouldn’t just give up. This “tactic” of theirs to withdraw the offer is to draw out the , and are being helped massively by the fans. Keep it going

Whilst I have no love for the Saudi regime seeking to take control of , the failed attempt does raise a number of questions and calls into question the role of the Premier League in this farce. Consider the evidence: (1/n)
