How many NLers know this? Are we teaching our kids about it? I hadn't quite grasped that the slave trade was pretty central to the NL economy. We built slave ships and our salt cod not salable to free people was a staple food for slaves.

There was so much hope and excitement at the Commemoration Event at the Immaculate Conception Church in Harbour Grace on Sunday . Two NL entrepreneurs , Brenda O’ Reilly and Craig Flynn , have undertaken to restore and give new life to the historic church structure!
