De Smith's likely utterances during the current 2021 CBA: 1) Outsiders don't understand this business. 2) No chance we can get those terms. 3) Leave that me, these are legal matters. 4) Since things will go poorly - it is on the Exec. Comm since they are in charge.

As usual, rank and file members like understand what is going on. The fellas need educate every member about the real cost and conditions of playing ball and then educate the public. Most players a stand-up guys that the public genuinely like. Get on a program.

Since when has it been ok for teams to franchise tag a player, only to then look to trade him? The whole point of the franchise tag is to want to keep the player, not effectively hold him to ransom while you try to get value for him. are supposed to be all over this!

The problem with African-American coaches are best addressed by African-Americans investors buying teams. members could have bought the last 4 teams for sale at market for $6B. People favor they know for top slots. Too bad De Smith negotiated such a disastrous 2011 CBA.

A couple things. Lack of black head coaches causes consternation. With 67% NFL black & 50% of D1 black, we should see more black coaches. OTOH, people tend to trust people they know w/ valuable assets (affinity bias -look like me). should seek equity in clubs. 2021 CBA
