Just talking with a foster mum who cares for a severely disabled boy...wanting respite for Anzac day night...$2400!! For one night! $1400 per night normal night! Out of his NDIS package. Someone is making a killing out of the NDIS.

I’M DEVASTATED New plan dropped, wheelchair frame funded, no wheels! Needed the power assist wheels last year after losing my breasts! I’m on the floor crying over how undignified all of this is. My dignity and autonomy is impacted. How is this ok?

The is meant to be inclusive, to help ALL Australians participate in our society to the fullest. This treatment is so unconscionable. is this how you want the to work? Appalling.

I am so sorry that this happened to your family. Do you have support now? I prefer the to the old system; but a whole lot of new gaps are being created THIS is the real impact of unnecessarily imposing restrictions & stripping funding

I still can't believe that has been so deliberately broken by the Liberal Party and it's not front page news. Apparently having a disability means you're just cannon fodder to aid the destruction of our progressive tax system 🤬

New plan received. Core is OK. CB is *TERRIBLE*. Not enough even for really basic stuff like occupational therapy. Total CB funding approx 20% of what I asked for. Had evidence to show everything reasonable/necessary. So much energy wasted. Have to appeal

Sadly seems too difficult to negotiate. Too many are waiting at each stage of the process with unmet needs. Others don’t know where or how to start. How many don’t have the capacity or support to provide ‘right’ information or to appeal? How many will give up?Enough neglect

The 21st Century equivalent of the Company store. And, similarly, with so much of the budget going on contract administration not services: workers are woefully underpaid for important caring work and clients left with huge gaps in service and fighting even for basics

A double leg amputee renting a home in Sydney got asked by their NDIS planner why they couldn’t “just get a trailer” for the transport of their enormous, motorised wheelchair to the shops etc., and has been waiting for house mods for > a year. Our taxes at work.

Oh this just breaks my heart 💔 , if this doesn’t make you weep you are made of stronger stuff than me. This is dehumanising, to be deprived of dignified independent living is heartbreaking.. So sorry this happened to you 💓💓💓

I’ve had enough and tiny-minded bullish•t today. I’m closing my OT client books for a while. Equipment rejected for ableist views on how disabled people should live. I suspect they create mindless busy-work for OTs to keep our profession quiet.

Ellen, your tweet brought me to tears.😢We need a Govt that cares for our vulnerable people and treats everyone with dignity and respect, rather than referring to people with disabilities as a "burden" on the economy.

on this week has given the most succinct & clear voice on how ID & MH applicants are getting screwed by . The bureaucracy just to be denied is not worth the energy. I try to cope w less support rather than exhausting tail-chasing for nought.

The Abbott-Turnbull-Morrison Govt has taken two important Labor policy proposals and delivered train-wrecks of both. Deliberately.
