MA RAINEY’s BLACK BOTTOM is fantastic and a succinct, pitch-perfect adaptation of the Wilson play. Chadwick Boseman’s final role is the best he’s ever been on-screen...probably the performance of a lifetime. Give him and Viola Davis their Oscars. Game over.

Me to the white gays: What if we trade? I'll watch if you keep this same energy for when it comes out next month. I get a cute white romcom, you get a black queer film that's gonna get Viola Davis another Oscar.

Ok Viola did the damn thing. Chadwick gave an out of body performance it’s his film. Special mention to my Philly brother and Fellow Tu Grad Coleman Domingo. We don’t deserve August Wilson

Why are people still arguing about it? It's been confirmed that Viola is going lead for , and from what I have heard, because she wants to. Respect her decision and stop this "but she is supporting" nonsense. Let's just honor her as a LEADING lady.

A profound tale about the inherited traumas of the black experience and the tragedy of a dream deferred. Viola (that body language!) and Chadwick (that charisma!) are outstanding but the whole cast impresses. Looking forward to seeing it again.

Ma Rainey’s Black Bottom is THE best performance of Chadwick Boseman’s career. The type that will freeze you in your seat. He put his all into this. Great turns as well from Coleman Domingo, Viola Davis and entire cast. The Oscar hype is real and warranted.

: What a cast! But Viola Davis and Chadwick Bozeman will standout. Both will easily be in the Oscar race. George C Wolfe's direction is stout, and I just loved looking at all that dark chocolate goodness. But it all starts with August Wilson's writing.
