A year ago today, an EF-3 tornado ripped through parts of Lamar County, Hattiesburg and Petal. In total, 4 lives were lost, 57 were injured and over 1,000 homes were damaged or destroyed.

WINTER STORM WARNINGS have been expanded southeastward now to include Alcorn, Tippah, Benton, Union, Lafayette and Tallahatchie Co until 6 p.m. Avoid travel along I-22 NW of Tupelo and MS 6 west of Pontotoc.

I now have 1.25 inches on the ground here in Oak Grove with heavy snow still falling and an air temp of 22°. This is officially the coldest snow I have ever experienced in my life. I also noticed how powdery the snow was, almost like Colorado snow.
