Today is for the Falkland Islanders. This is the national day of the Falkland Islands and commemorates the liberation of the Falkland Islanders from Argentine military occupation at the end of the Falklands War on 14 June 1982.

Today marks 37 years since our British Armed Forces raised the Union Flag over Port Stanley following the surrender of the Argentine invasion forces. Thank you to all those who played a role in the Falklands War & to the 255 British servicemen who never returned ๐Ÿ‡ฌ๐Ÿ‡ง

On this in 1945, Canadians liberated the Netherlands - including my mother and her family. While visiting family in Katwijk, we took our boys to Canadian war graves in The Hague so the next generation remembers. We will never forget.

The Liberation Day parade has just passed through Stanley It marks 37 years to the day that Argentine Forces surrendered to British Forces to bring the Falklands war to an end.

As tomorrow, 14th June is Liberation Day in the Falkland Islands, the HR department will be closed to remember those who fought for the liberation of these islands in 1982. Instead of work, we will meet at the Liberation Memorial to celebrate our freedom.
