Rather odd that the President is talking about Kenya's green power generation credentials. But on his watch, a near 1 GW coal fired power plant is to be built in . Kenya's generation spread isn't as "green" as we'd like to think it is.

a massive 365 turbine wind farm has begun generating 13% of ’s power. if kenya is meet its ambitious goal of 100% green energy it clearly needs to drop plans for the coal fired power station.

Difficult to understand why Kenya wants to go ahead with the Coal Power Project despite the fact that mining & burning coal dumps harmful pollutants like mercury, lead, sulfur dioxide, nitrogen oxides, particulates, and other heavy metals into breathable air.

'Disastrous project' Most of Kenya's electricity is currently generated by renewable sources & it has committed to reducing its already small carbon footprint by 30% by 2030.But the coal plant alone will represent a 7-fold increase in Kenya's annual greenhouse gas emissions
