In 1901, a statue of Victorian bodybuilder and international hunk Eugen Sandow was put on display at the Museum. It lasted just three months before it was relegated to the basement, away from prying eyes. 🏳️‍🌈

On the last day of we're saying thank you to Terry Higgins. Terry was one of the first people to die from an AIDS-related illness in the UK, with a charity then set up in his name. Each and every day we remember Terry and continue the work to end HIV and end stigma.

Fantastic post by exploring some some of the barriers older LGBT people can face when accessing quality health care. Many older LGBT people “will retreat back into the closet and not divulge that important part of themselves”

We round off LGBT History Month commemorating all those who were forced to live in the shadows when homosexuality was illegal. We also stand in solidarity with LGBT people across the world who don't enjoy the same rights and freedoms as we do in the UK.

Over the years, more and more species have been found to engage in non-traditional sexual behaviour. As species continue to be observed, this list is only expected to grow. There are even indications that the rarely seen giant squid might occasionally have gay sex. 🏳️‍🌈
