Attempted a time-lapse of the storms rolling in over Lake Pontchartrain. Arrived a little too late, as the outflow was already overhead. Lightning near by and wind causing my phone to fall over makes for a short video. Otherwise, it was a great view.

Extreme heat is building in TX and will expand into Louisiana by this weekend. A northerly storm track will send impulses of storms into LA for the remainder of this week before that heat dome takes control.

Large influx of Saharan dust has invaded the Gulf Coast from Texas to Louisiana. Murky, dusty skies to go along with building heat this week.

Wow! Pretty cool outflow boundary headed into the area from the storms over Lake Pontchartrain. Gusty winds, cool air and storms follow behind these clouds.
