It’s so great to travel with locals because they bring you to places nobody knows. I’m really glad to know that there’s a hidden sacred shrine like this in Kyoto... 🗺 🗾

Camellia Tea Ceremony Nov 26
Replying to @camelliakyoto
The 2.4m tall lantern itself was created in the Kamakura period, and has no actual connection to Tadamori. Like many stories from the 'Heike Monogatari' (平家物語), it is very difficult to know how much of the incident with the lamp-lighting monk was embellished.

Camellia Tea Ceremony Nov 29
Replying to @camelliakyoto
Some of you have asked why we chose the name 'Camellia' for our tea ceremony business...well, tea plants are actually a form of camellia (🌿camellia sinensis🍃) and so it seemed a good fit. 🍵We really do hope to see some of you in our teahouses next year🙇‍♂️
