Thank you Chooglin for making my point! As your Snopes article points out Fox did not sue for the right to lie. It is difficult for even myself to suss out the truth at times! The Fairness Doctrine however was a real thing and it’s effect on broadcast news.

So what do we do about this? My solution? Turn off your tv. Go get your news from multiple online sources. Question stories that seem overly biased and check multiple sources BEFORE you get upset or express outrage on social media.
