Also I am already weary of the argument that libraries should tell users to contact to lower their prices. Just...no. Users should not have to perform that labor!

The only thing similar about and Netflix is that they are both streaming platforms. It’s misleading to compare them beyond that. Stop.

I really have to recommend the movie Silent Star on It's a 1960s East German/Polish SF movie with some of the coolest costumes and sets I've ever seen. The cinematography is beautiful. And it is a fascinating peak behind the Iron Curtain.

Henry Jaglom's EATING is now streaming on . Upon reflection I think it might be the first legit 'indie' film I ever saw. I was working at a video store in 1990 and, on a weird impulse, I put it on. I remember liking it & thinking, 'Wow, good movies can be about anything!"

For some unusual superhero entertainment, I recommend They Call Me Jeeg, a gritty Italian take on the the genre. Available on It ain't the Avengers.

Well that sucks, but from what I’ve heard from a librarian friend is that Kanopy is an extremely expensive service for libraries to pay for so it makes sense NYPL would drop it
