We are reaching the point at the Likud rally where Bibi supporters are yelling at the media that they are enemies of Israel. Feels just like home!

Politicians don't say racist shit because they're necessarily racist. They say racist shit because they know voters will reward them for doing so. Politicians merely hold a mirror in front of their constituents. Today we get to see Israel's reflection.

I had been very hopeful for a new era and wanted to see new leadership. I am sad to see that new era will not begin today. I still believe in the state of Israel and in Zionism, just as I still believe in America in the age of Trump.

At 8pm with 2 hours till polling closes, 61.3% of Israelis had voted, about the same as in the 2015 election. Voting ends at 10pm when the exit polls - a prediction of the final result - will be announced.

Netanyahu confirms he has already started coalition talks and believes he has enough seats to get a majority in the Knesset. Looks good for Bibi to remain PM.

“Exit polls show a dead heat in the race between Benjamin Netanyahu, the polarizing, right-wing prime minister, and his main rival, Benny Gantz, a newcomer to electoral politics who is seen as a centrist. Both men claimed victory.”

The Labour Party core values are of equality, social justice & opportunity for all. Why then it is acceptable for MPs or members to support Netanyahu's filthy right wing nation state regime? That contradicts everything we're supposed to be about.

One more note: results aren’t official until April 17th, after which parties recommend their preferred coalition to President Reuven Rivlin. Then by April 24 he has to request that a party form a government (requiring a majority of the 120-seat Knesset)

Benjamin Netanyahu, an overt racist and liar who is under indictment pending a court hearing in three major cases not only got elected for a 5th term but increased his power. He wants annexation! This *is* the will of Israel. Israelis voted for apartheid.

I argue that was a missed opportunity to do what the Israeli opposition has long failed to do: to present a distinct alternative agenda to the ruling right-wing bloc. Gantz was thus unable to sway right-leaning voters to abandon Bibi.

Nearly every party now claiming they’re losing votes. I’m not a mathematician but logically this just can’t be. 3.5 more hours until this all mercifully ends.
