Had my heart broken a bit more today by homelessness. An incredible mother who couldn’t stand being called ‘Mum’ by her own kids because of the weight of failure she felt.

is a term I dislike, I was very active during my early homelessness experience, yet all authorties involved said I wasn't eligible for housing.. Over six years I slumped from hostel to hostel with many instances of rough sleeping in between. People don't hide.

what you see on streets people ...means homeless !..then there are people in hostels..squats..sofa surfing..the list is almost endless..but still no place to call HOME !

I was shocked and disgusted while watching tonight’s dispatches. How have we ended up in a society where you can be working full time but still unable to afford rent and have nowhere to live

What I mean by this is most of us know someone affected even if we're not directly ourselves. The numbers are unknown but estimates put them at 10,000+ That's ppl sleeping on couches or familes cramped into a spare room etc. Those ppl are not on the homeless list
