I’ll confess that I felt an “energy” at the site of Greenwich Palace today. I felt compelled to go through a certain doorway, then carried on walking...& came face-to-face with the only remnants of the Palace visible to the public. The 2 rooms date to ’s reign:

built a huge tiltyard at Greenwich Palace in 1516. The jousting celebrating the birth of a Prince 👑 were meant to be held here - but gave birth to instead. It‘s in this tiltyard that Anne saw her husband for the last time before her arrest.

I would dearly love to know if the teenage Elizabeth defiantly wore her mother’s “A” necklace to pose for the Whitehall family portrait? & what about daddy ? Did he not realise, did he suspect or didn’t he care? Did he ever look at her & think “She’s like her mother”?

Two wax figures of ’s 4th wife, Anne of Cleves. Both depictions show a pensive, rather sad-looking woman, dressed in the German fashion. Anne was 24 when she married 48-year-old Henry in January 1540. It was the shortest of Henry’s marriages, lasting only 6 months.

An intricate 3D scale model of ’s fabulous Nonsuch Palace. Construction began on it in 1538 to celebrate the birth of H8’s long-awaited for son. Considered 1 of the finest palaces in Europe, it was torn down 150 years later. The replica took 1,250+ hours to make.

We often tend to think of & travelling by horse. Yet they would often travel in luxury & comfort by royal 👑 barge, between Greenwich, Hampton, Windsor & Whitehall palaces & houses of friends lying on cushions, with music playing & merry company.

Has never seen this picture before & can’t find any info about it, but it’s quite intriguing, don’t you think? 👑 looks suitably unimpressed that it’s only a “useless girl”! 😂

owned many pieces of jewellery with her initials: A, AB, B, AR & HA. They were part of her personal collection that Anne had from before her marriage or made especially for her by the King as gifts to her. Did destroy them - or give them to Elizabeth?
