A breathtakingly foolish thing to say. Sky News’ Editor-at-Large wondering aloud if someone from the committed arson in order to claim insurance on the building as it neared the conclusion of its wondrous restoration. Where even to begin?

It’s ridiculous that concerned Scots wanting to know what was happening last night had to wait for news channels in London to notice & start reporting because Scotland has no dedicated, 24/7 news channel.

The Frauenkirche in Dresden was a pile of rubble for decades prior to its complete restoration. Uppark, a NT property in Sussex, is another example of a building gutted by fire and restored to huge acclaim. Glasgow School of Art will be another.
