It’s ridiculous that concerned Scots wanting to know what was happening last night had to wait for news channels in London to notice & start reporting because Scotland has no dedicated, 24/7 news channel.

We’re devastated and heartbroken for everyone at ; staff, students and residents of Garnethill. Teams of highly skilled craftsman from Scotland and around the world were so close to completing a magnificent restoration project.

Can’t believe people are seriously suggesting that the building at should be demolished - horrifying thought. It’s one of the finest art nouveau buildings in the world. Every effort must be made by Glasgow to rebuild it.

Fair play to the firefighters who tackled the fire . I really don't know how they do it when faced with such a raging inferno. Top men.

THREAD on . I visited the site with last night, who have done an incredible job to contain a fire that was totally out of control on their arrival and also collapsed the timber clad roof of the neighbouring ABC venue, which dates back to 1875.

William's sensitive of fellow student and future wife Nita Begg. Dark, serious and rather sombre though delicately painted, she looks about 25 years old so it may be the portrait for which he was awarded the Guthrie Prize in 1946 at .

Woke to hear news of the fire and it having spread to the - a venue we absolutely love and have played many times. We hope all were safely evacuated and that the venue can be saved. To our friends who manage and work there, we hope all will be well
