The most terrifying part of this tweet is the replies! Half are wrong about the Highway Code & the other half are just threatening & abusive. Relying on the “good nature” of drivers to is wishful thinking at best. Need better infrastructure & stronger protection.

34% of people in Scotland don’t always leave 1.5m. 80% find it “frustrating” overtaking someone cycling. Two thirds don’t know they could get three points on their licence for driving too close to someone cycling on Scotland’s roads! Please

ZHI MIN SOH'S FAMILY SUCCEED IN CIVIL CASE AGAINST RABBIE'S TOURS. Drivers must leave room for cyclists at all times and not just when passing. Quite poignant during a week where the focus is on seeking more space for cyclists.

“Close passes make me feel vulnerable on the road. I feel like some people forget there is a person on the bike when they pull a dangerous manoeuvre. Surely it’s better to be two minutes slower than end up knocking someone off their bike?”

Experience of close passes at the weekend was fairly minimal. Main concern was the risk that some road users put themselves and others at to overtake, often at speed on blind corners, and how close motorbikes come when passing. such an important campaign.
