If we really have to question any consortium plz question decision making, it’s policy, logistics of sequencing centers/operators/kits, etc. They not only impact costs (direct/indirect) but also impact outcomes. They are not technical details they are your multivariate.

I think I need help with SNP calling I have a parent genome and an offspring genome mapped to a reference, and I have SNP calls for the parent, I want to know the allele frequency (0,1,0.5) of the offspring at each parental site, and only those sites
