My kids got their in 2017 and '18 but I feel I'm missing out on this year's mass showing off. So just want to point out they did really really well. My wife also wants to remind everyone she did great in 1988 and my O levels (which were harder) were amazing in '85.

I hear it’s day. If you are disappointed with yours, DON’T freak out. I was with mine, and went on to do two degrees and write 5 bestsellers. They seem like the biggest deal in the world at the time, and trust me they aren’t.

Really pleased with the results and the improvement over the past 18 months! From 58% 4+ in 2017, 64% in 2018 we achieved 74% in 2019! An increase of 16% in two years. We are above both the S Yorkshire average of 67% and national average of 71%.

I have no idea what I got on day and have no memories of the day except one: a girl called Polly Robinson who was lovely got 11 A*s and I can remember her hands shaking as she clutched the paper. I hope she is doing lovely things.

For anyone getting their results today, don’t worry if they aren’t as good as you expected. Mine were pretty bad. I didn’t turn onto education until going to and after working hard then on to to read Law. Today I’m a multi-millionaire :)

Fab to see students getting their results, especially those who thought they 'couldn't' get anything'- it wasn't the grades, but the fact that they had all sat their GCSEs and come out with qualifications for their futures

If the grace, sensitivity and sheer drive of the 16year olds I witnessed supporting each other through this morning are anything to go by, the next generation are going to be the leaders we’d wished we’d had. Go for it! 💥💥🚀🚀🚀

: Why is there a gender gap in attainment? Could it be partly down to the fact that girls tend to have different study and revision habits?
