Wales, you bowled me over. I’ve never sweated so much in a Forest. I didn’t need to pick up one piece of litter. My heart wasn’t sunk by sprayed verges and fertilised land. And your, trees! I’ve never breathed so easy. Diolch 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 Now for that brown envelope

I got good GCSEs. I got good A levels. I dropped out of uni not once, but TWICE. I spent my 20s working in a pub. It took me until nearly 30 to find my current career working as a Healthcare Professional. GCSEs do NOT shape who you are.

Teaching is itself a very rewarding job, but when you receive a personalised gift from a pupil/parent and a card that truly melted my icy heart, it really blows you away.

Ok. You’ve had the printout of your grades - I think it’s time for a Quote: “We know what we are, but not what we may be” ~ William Shakespeare Knowing where you are NOW - good or not so good - is vital. Decision time. Open the next door.

Growing up in an African household academic success was a must, we didn’t have a choice. Our parents believed that education was the key to success and growth. So if you came home with bad grades, it was going to be hell on earth.... 🤣 Congratulations Yr 11 👍🏽

I hope everyone picking up their get what they want. If you don’t - it’s okay! Seriously. I didn’t get on at school (lots of reasons) and left with 2 GCSE’s - both at low grades but went on to get a BTEC in Performing Arts and a BA (Hons) Degree.

A wise man once said () that it’s better to be at the bottom of a ladder you want to climb than halfway up one you don’t. Well I climbed a rung today by passing GCSE Maths after 25 years.

Only Jeremy Corbyn can look at happy teenagers receiving their results and add a touch of misery to the moment. Socialists hate happiness & aspiration.
