Great way to get students reading labels is to break each component down for them. Here they had to read the info to answer the Qs and then guess the product. Looking forward to revealing the mystery item next Friday! ๐ŸŠ๐Ÿ’ฆโ˜บ๏ธ

Barley, quinoa, oats, brown rice and whole-grain pastas, breads and cereals are examples of whole-grain foods. When reading food labels, look for the words โ€œwhole grainโ€ listed as the first ingredient.๐Ÿ˜‹

Reading needs to be on the wider curriculum. Itโ€™s so important for all. Great that home ec. students get that opportunity. The traffic light system is one that catches my eye e.g. yesterday in shop read smoked salmon 100g = 50% daily req. salt ๐Ÿ™ˆ
