If anyone within the viscinity of my tweets is using 66 on , you can now enable WebRender by toggling gfx.webrender.enabled I haven't done any extensive benchmarking, but it's noticably less slow.

Create a web page with just an <input> in it. Take a browser memory snapshot. Type one char in the <input>. Snapshot again. 10KB difference. Piles of objects and functions created. Makes it difficult to profile memory use.
