My partner's dissertation defense on young immigrant mental health for came right around the time that was going into full swing. The takeaway from his research is the younger the child, the more DEVASTATING the impact of trauma.

Two things MSM isn't reporting about the story: 1) Clearly 's policy isn't working. 2) It must be horrific in , if they're willing to make that journey and lose their children at the border.

How is this not shut down yet?? Horrific. We need a to strangle the funding out of this and appoint Judges who still believe America is a country that values human rights.

UPDATE: One of the families we met in has been reunited w their child after being split by defunct policy. 6 yo Carlos Gabriel is back with his family. Lawyers for the family tell me the boy arrived sick, with a bruised eye.

Almost 1 year since Trump admin. established their cruel policy. 2 months since the court-ordered deadline to reunite children & parents. 182 of those children STILL wondering if they’ll see their families again, w/ thousands more in detention. It's inhumane.

All involved with should face accountability for that humanitarian crisis. While my attitude towards Sessions and possibly Nielsen getting fired is a confident "good riddance," this obviously does not REMOTELY approach accountability for the crisis.
