People should stop citing average prices as evidence the “won’t work.” In 2018, around 25% of home sales in Toronto were for homes under $500K — and 17% in Vancouver. That’s plenty. works up to $565K.

Guilty as charged: wasn’t intended to “help most people” nor “maximize buying power.” That would have added to house price inflation. It is a *targeted* program to help people buy without borrowing too much.
