"I suffered, so you should suffer too!" Is the favorite argument of assholes. I prefer "I suffered this injustice and so I will do my best to ensure people coming after me don't have to suffer the same thing." And its a philosophy that applies to so many things in life.

The more I learn about narcissistic personality disorder (npd), which includes inability to empathise, combined with the fact society is as whole becoming less empathetic - it seems obvious that we have to nurture empathy in childhood like never before.

Great idea? WTF. My father had asbestosis. The last year of his life was gasping for air with each breath. He died at 68. Since has never showed any he doesn't care how miserable someone's life is. He is a true piece of shit.

All unconscious biases (gender, ability, race, age, politics, and more) are fueled by one common denominator -- a lack of empathy. We don't need more 'awareness' training. We need more .

Do u hate US military? Do u suport universal healthcare? Are u against police brutality? Do u like taxes? Do u support gun control laws? Do u hate inequity? Do non-whites have a right to self-determination? Pro-lifers with conviction will answer "yes" to all questions.

Now fully understanding a long past, deep family schism for the first time, I’m reminded of something I know (but often forget). Difficult people usually have good reason for being difficult.

The podcast is always brilliant, but the latest ep on manipulation is an absolute must-listen. The same story (about an "incel" who hates women) is told in different ways which changes how we identify with him. Raises some really interesting questions
