Just found this in my daughters room. Beautiful. It also reminded me of the power of the written word. Teachers and admin, write encouraging notes!!! The price you pay for a few minutes of your time is nothing compared to the joy and encouragement provided.

My science teacher made this outside his classroom. I love it. , had me thinking of you and your no final exam policy and this question... is there any other situation/job where a moment encompasses 20% of our over all worth and abilities?

I always try to surround myself with people who make me think, inspire me to be better and excel at values that are important to me. I also enjoy being around people who are also different from me. If I hung out with people who were just like me, I would never grow.

Mastery grading. Personalized conferences. No due dates. Index card cheat sheets for exams. Test retakes. I love these classroom practices because they focus on the child and the learning, not the score.
