I took part in Beach Cleanup in Accra this morning, with some 300 other volunteers! EU Climate Week action. All of us knew that we have to fight many clean up battles but we are determined to win the war against filth on the beach.

Last week, and joined Belgian associations to clear 11.5 tonnes of garbage from the coastline. Up to 12 million tonnes of plastic enter the oceans each year and our ambitious will help prevent more marine litter adding up.

2019 was a success! Tale beach in Lezha is now cleaner thanks to the volunteers from the , Europe House, environmental NGOs and the "Kolin Gjoka" High School. Together we collected more than 180 bags of plastic and waste!
