Hearing from enrollment chiefs at a few campuses that inquiries and applications are trending down this fall, in some cases by a lot. Why? Sure, demographics, but that shouldn't create a cliff like some are seeing. Affordability? Other reasons?

A1: My last few years on the Admissions side I separated parents from students during portions of the admitted student day visit. Allowed me to really focus on the unique needs of each group and keep them engaged.

I had a great dinner tonight with three EM professionals and two EAB staff I had never met; it's remarkable how much our lives and professions are the same across different institutional types. We really need an EM professional association. Who's in? RT if yes.

A new admissions professional asked me today what is the number one piece of advice I would give to them. My reply was “make connections, not a sales pitch”. A prospect is more likely to listen to you if you get to know their concerns and what they really want.

Love the scavenger hunt! I did something very similar years ago but I based it on The Amazing Race! It was soooo much fun and everyone loved it!

One of Bank of America's account security questions is this: Name a college that you applied to but did not attend. Here's a ? for folks who know more than me -- how many Americans even have an answer to that question?! 1 in 5? (But prolly the majority of the twitter...)
