Has anyone else developed trauma responses to medical treatments? Needles, even surgical videos used to be nothing. Now other people’s medical stories, or just the sight of a needle & my blood pressure spikes, I shake and get sick, sometimes I randomly cry

If you had to ablesplain your disability or why you’re disabled, what would it sound like? I’m disabled because I won’t use prosthetic legs and so any accessibility issues I have are on me since I won’t alter my body. Actually told this

I stood up unassisted for 10 seconds today, and I haven’t been able to do that in two years. This is a big one.

Hey I’m looking to follow more trans people on Instagram! If you could drop your handles / follow me on insta that would be great! Same goes for and those in the community too! I’m trans and chronically ill 👋🏼

when you were taught about what it means to be human (anatomically, spiritually, socially, whatever) were disabled people included in that definition? I'm betting not. And I'm tired of how often we're left out of definitions of human.

Showers are just so hard for me. I'm starting a new job on Monday so I've decided to shower at night. It's just too exhausting & causes too much in the morning.

So shout out to all & for being so open about your feelings & struggles. Thank you for using your limited energy to educate others. Even if some days all I can do is read & like your tweet, it makes me feel like I’m not alone to read your words🤗

Something my neurologist said that made me feel seen. "For some, success means getting a wheelchair approved; for others, it's putting a wheelchair aside."

Been pretty glum today, unsurprisingly. One of the things that’s struck me is the lack of disabled voices response in MSM to the election result. We’ve been one the hardest groups hit by austerity, yet voiceless throughout. Thank goodness for the community.

CN: Paraphrasing ableist shit I'm disabled because on some level I *want* to be sick, and just don't have the right attitude. If I went for a run I'd be fine and not disabled anymore. Also, I like the attention!
