Type one diabetes can be diagnosed at any age. It's not a child-only disease. I've had two adults in the last two days tell me they were grateful I believed they were diagnosed T1 as an adult. To reiterate, T1D can be diagnosed when you are an adult!

The number is estimated to reach 592 million in 2035. Currently, sub-Saharan Africa is estimated to have 20 million people with diabetes, about 62% are not diagnosed and the number is expected to reach 41.4 million by 2035 or an increase of 109.1%.
