As Deaf Awareness week starts on Monday 14th May, I thought about doing short videos each day about my own experiences as a Deaf individual. Wondered if anyone had anything they’d like to know more about from me or any ideas what I could talk about? ☺️

This says it all really. My husband has fairly severe hearing loss & now wears hearing aids. Over the years, I’ve had to learn to adapt to his communication needs. Sometimes it’s frustrating for both of us, but a little patience goes a long way

It really is so easy to learn. As babies we naturally communicate through gesture. Go on, give it a go, learn to fingerspell, what are you waiting for?

Harassed another deaf couple on the train. I told them all about the pantomime, they taught me the sign for Meadowhall (which is subtly different from cow). He was so impressed with my signing, he asked if I was hearing 😅 (I think he was being nice)
