I am not my personality, not my strengths nor weaknesses, my achievements nor failures. I am much more. I am not merely the me of the moment. That is not permanent. I can be better. I can transcend.

Performance matters because People matter. You do a good job because you value the people who are eating what you cook, believing what you preach, hearing what you sing, seeing what you paint, and buying what you’re offering. If you really care, you perform.

This should go without saying: Famous does not equal wise. I don’t know why the opinion of someone known is so valued. Before you take someone’s opinion, ask yourself, “What does he/she know about this?”

Don’t battle your discouragement by fueling your discouragement and drama. Battle it with purpose, with healthy hormones, with prayer, and with meaningful community.

DBS ep.6: A return to form after last time. Beerus is proper scary, and I have to love an episode that pretty much centers around takoyaki. The bingo dance in the movie was better than takoyaki chef Vegeta, but I kinda like that we have both. 3.75/5

As non-profits grow, it’s important that they clearly define their performance metrics, what performance gets their people promoted and what performance gets their people fired. I’m not referring to the sincerity of their hearts but the achievements of their skills.

Pitying is not understanding. If anything, it is misunderstanding. Understanding is knowing the underlying principles that define a topic. Pitying people does not help. It is an emotional Rice Krispy. Understanding people does help. It is empathy with wisdom.

“Grace” has become a Christian’s ultimate hack, and like our obsession with life hacks, the question remains: So what? So what if you have all this power? So what if you’ve found a better way? What is the value of this revelation? Are you making the world a better place?
