Nyanga leads in murder cases with 308 murders reported in the area. Up from 281 in the financial year before. Umlazi takes second spot with 223 murders, up from 187 the previous year. Philippi East is third (205). My hometown, Mthatha is 9th with 160 murders.

: The Western Cape recorded 808 gang-related murders, followed by the Eastern Cape with 87. Limpopo and the Northern Cape have recorded no such murders.

Major General Sekhukhune says a two year comparison of contact crimes shows that murder went up by 6.9% - from 19016 in 2016/17 to 20336 in 2017/18. Attempted murder: up 0.2% (18233) Rape: up 0.5% (from 39828 to 40035)

The Western Cape seven stations in the top 10 murder stations in the country. All seven are in Cape Town. Nyanga, Philippi East, Delft, Khayelitsha, Kraaifontein, Gugs, Mfuleni.

SA has some of the strictest gun laws in the world. This makes gun control lot happy, who even call for "gun free SA". Despite this, reflect that guns are the biggest driver of violent crimes...so much for "gun control"🙄 Let good citizens own guns as a RIGHT!

Revelation at briefing that SA is short 62k police shows need for nuance on the high public wage bill. SA public service is bloated at the top (highly paid managers/policy specialists). We don't have enough teachers/police/nurses/technicians. It's a crisis!
