😯 hadn’t realised how bad this is. We aren’t far off new cases per day of peak of 1st wave & doubling quickly. Could be much worse if dramatic action not taken. Given geographical spread, predict a very tough time for lots of ITUs within a month. Need a fire-break NOW

Key message: You alone cannot decide to take risks. By deciding to take risks you are endangering everyone else around you. Eventually the virus will reach someone who is vulnerable and it will kill them.

Chris Whitty has spoken more clearly, more concisely there than any politician throughout this crisis. Fair play to him and thank you. Boris....... take note. Over to you

Sources saying today will be a warning, PM will not authorize a full lockdown yet so the medical Chiefs will spell out what could happen if you act like Dominic Cummings.

Sources tell me NO10 (Dominic Cummings) plans to frame the new restrictions imposed as being YOUR fault in an insulting attempt deflect blame from Govt. Just count the dead bodies & ask your self who failed to until it was too late.

If this graph used by Whitty and Vallance at briefing was posted on people would claim it was misinformation. Why is it acceptable to base policy on predictions like this? The worst case "Example Scenario" to scare the UK population is damaging mental health.

Replying to @KirstieMAllsopp
It is estimated the UK would have lost 200 thousand plus had we not locked down in March. The would have been completely overwhelmed. The only 'location, location, location' would have been a 'graveyard, graveyard, graveyard', Kirstie.

Why are the public being briefed at 11am on a Monday when lots of us are at work??

BBC News - Covid: Vallance and Whitty on the BBC currently trying to re-educate the Covidiots by repeating the same data & projections from March. All of which happened. And will again unless measures are taken. It really really isn’t rocket science this

Assuming Chris Whitty doesn't have powers to lock us down so guessing today's briefing is going to be like getting a telling off from your Biology teacher. Something I experienced a little too much back in the day 😂

Genuine question - is there anything else out there that kills 200 people a day in the U.K.?

Facing a second lockdown with no job, no benefits yet, kids at home all week from school, what the hell are people supposed to do ? I fully, fully support masks/social distancing/anything to save lives, but I also need to eat....
