5 weeks ago I struggled with the 1 minute runs, this morning I did a whole (slow) 20 minute run! Thanks to the encouraging voice of on I realise people run marathons but this is huge for me- if youโ€™re doing it keep going!!๐Ÿ’ช๐Ÿƒ๐Ÿปโ€โ™€๏ธ

Week 4 run 1 of done. Really didn't think I could do it, but I did, even if it felt like my jog was slower than my walk. And I am doing (slowly) a 5k race on Sunday, followed by a morris dancing event (hopefully just as a musician)! I think I'm mad!

When if you stomp down on your heel when landing, you're placing undue stress on your ankles & knees cos up to 10 times your body weight is being absorbed by these joints. Stay light on your feet to reduce injury.

Started a app in April and this morning completed first 5k without stopping for a cheeky catch a breath walk. Tough going after years of not really doing any running like that and haven't played football for about four or five years either so fitness levels were poor.

Marathon training has to start somewhere and so it started tonight... painfully and painfully slowly. Oil tanker metaphors spring to mind. Even the first run of app felt more 5k than couch!
