My message to every high school kid in America: I was in high school during Columbine. If we'd fought for change then, you wouldn't have had to suffer now. I'm sorry. Keep fighting. Keep fighting. Keep fighting. Don't give up hope. Do what we didn't—Lead✊🏾

I was a young teacher when 12 students and a teacher were shot down at Columbine. That was 20 years ago today. Since that day, at least 143 more people have been killed in school shootings and 187,000 students at 193 schools have experienced a school shooting.

I cannot believe it has been 20 years since the tragedy at Columbine High School. It's terrible that this still happens in our country and it sadly shows no signs of ending. R.I.P. to all the people who lost their lives over these senseless acts.

Wow Columbine was 20 years ago. I still remember that day vividly and not fully understanding the breadth of it but fearing going to school those days after.
